Jorge Luis Borges

Jorge Luis Borges was an Argentine writer who is considered one of the foremost Hispanic literary figures of the 20th century. Best-known in the English speaking world for his short stories and fictive essays, Borges was also a poet, literary critic, translator and man of letters. His specific style of writing, evidenced most appearantly in The Garden of Forking Paths, invoked a non-linear, winding narrative that in some way predicted the art of hypermedia to emerge with the development of HTML and specifically the ability of writers to hyperlink words and sentences, allowing the reader to fork off the written, sequential narrative, and following a narrative path of their own choosing.
