Ryota Matsumoto is one of the pioneers of the postdigital art and network culture theorist in Tokyo and New York. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania after studying visual arts and design theory at the Architectural Association and the Glasgow School of Art.
He has taught at Transmedia Institute as an adjunct professor and is a researcher at the New Centre of Research and Practice.
He received FILE (Electronic Language International Festival) Media Art Prize, Lynx International Prize Be Art Builder Award, and Lumen New Media Art Prize for his academic work.
